Analytical Consultant – Operational Research – £Competitive – Hampshire – J11245
Key client is looking for a number of Analytical Consultant’s to join their growing team of consultants and analysts, working with clients across Defence, Transport, Security and Policing to support key business decisions. They combine technical capabilities in modelling and analysis with client-facing consultancy skills, to ensure delivery of high-impact advice based on robust evidence.
They are in a period of sustained growth, so require exceptional candidates to join their team of dynamic consultants. They are seeking candidates with an interest, capability and experience within modelling, analysis and Operational Research (e.g. simulation modelling, spreadsheet modelling, data analytics, and cost/benefit analysis) or related consultancy skills (e.g. workshop facilitation, problem structuring, process analysis).
Role will involve:
Leading or working within project teams to deliver modelling/analysis/consultancy projects
Consulting with clients to understand requirements and develop solutions
Communicating and presenting findings to clients and internal stakeholders
Providing guidance and technical assurance to ensure that the analytical work undertaken is fit-for purpose and meets the client’s needs
Conducting/supporting business winning activities including customer engagement and proposal writing
Skills and qualifications will include:
A degree, masters or PhD in a numeric subject, e.g. operational research, mathematics, computer science, economics, chemistry and/or physics as a subject, or relevant experience to offset
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
Delivery of analysis/consultancy projects
Working within the Defence/Transport/Security and/or Policing Industry would be advantageous
Managing projects to agreed budgets and timescales
Experience of business winning and proposal writing would be beneficial
You will need to be self-motivated and driven. You should be comfortable working individually and within a team, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, you should have the ability to communicate technical solutions to a non-technical audience, as well as good communication and interpersonal skills towards clients and internal project teams.
