Datatech likes to be involved in raising money for charities and the local community. Recently we helped raise money to help a candidate who was running from Paris to London to raise money for 2 charities- Muscular Dystrophy and a local Radiotherapy suite. We held a cake sale and a breakfast sale, both were successful.
We have ‘dress down’ days each year for:
‘Wear it Pink’ for breast cancer- raising £300 in the past 2 years alone.
‘Jeans for Genes’ genetic charity raising £100 each year
National Blind Children’s Society raising £55 for the last 2 years running
We also support a fire fighter charity by taking part in raffles and ‘Children in Need’ by donating and doing our own activities to raise money.
At Christmas we provide shoe boxes full of essentials and toys for children in Africa and have supported Oxfam and third world countries by buying a goat, a water well and educational materials.
Recently we have organised 2 campaigns for the Syrian crisis to provide thermal blankets for families who have lost everything. We held bacon roll mornings and raised £135 so far, we are planning future events as this is a project close to our hearts.
